Pre-School and School Age

PreSchool

Age 4 and 5

Honey Bee Hollow cares for children until September 1st of their 4th year.  At that time, I strongly recommend a larger and formal preschool for your child.

When I started out in the childcare field, many years ago, there were very few full day preschool options available outside of home daycare and centers.

Traditional nursery schools only offered a few hours a day and that left working parents trying to fill in the gaps and arrange rides for their kids.   The public school started in kindergarten and few full day, dedicated preschool options were available to parents. That left preschoolers to child care providers.

Times have changed!!

Most local public schools now offer preschool. Specialized programs are becoming available through Family Resource Centers and school age child care programs.

These new programs offer 4 and 5 year olds the opportunity to prepare for a much larger public school setting, but continue with the emotional support that little ones still need.

I have loved having our 4 and 5-year-old friends over the years. But with all of the changes going on in the preschool landscape, I honestly feel that these new programs are what the kids need to be successful in public school.

The winter your child is 3, I will do my best to help you choose the preschool program that's the best fit for your family. I will still be available to you when preschool is closed for holidays, vacations and snow days, if space is available.

School Age

4 - 10

Honey Bee Hollow offers occasional drop-in care for school age children when school is closed. Care is available for weather related school closings, holidays and vacation weeks.

I do not provide before and after school care, as there is no direct bus service available.  I recommend contacting your local school system to explore any options they may have available for you.

Drop in space is limited to 3 school age children on a first come, first serve basis.
